THE TUSCAN DOWNTON ABBEY

The hotel La Suvera near Colle di Val d’Elsa in Tuscany is one of the few smallest luxury hotels in the world. It was once built as an ancient medieval fortress and got reimagined as a luxury retreat for Pope Julius II. He was responsible for commissioning the talented artist Michelangelo to paint the magnificent ceiling and walls of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican, in Rome. Since then La Suvera is owned by the Marquis Ricci’s family. After a completely renovation the former medieval fortress exists nowadays as a 5-star hotel and is welcoming guests from all over the world.

Not only the history about this stunning hotel is extraordinary, the appearance is even more scenic. The aristocratic halls are surrounded by a church, a gorgeous huge park and a swimming pool. The most iconic image from La Suvera is definitely an enormous screen bell which is covering a fountain in the garden in front of a church. Besides, the buildings of this luxurious hotel are renaissance architectural art pieces with frescoes on the ceilings for example. It is impossible not to be impressed with this place and not to feel like a princess there.

The satin dress I’m wearing was just the perfect piece of clothing for this amazing luxurious place. The dress has a fit-and-flare silhouette with a full pleated skirt. I chose a white satin blouse for underneath to create a more versatile look. I love accentuating my waist which is why I added a belt. To be honest there is no other outfit which will make you feel like an aristocrat (in my case princess).
